🔎 Project Scope :

Part of OCP’s Wave II investment plan, the Jorf Lasfar Fertilizer Expansion aimed to increase national phosphate processing capacity and position Morocco as the world’s leading phosphate exporter. The project included the addition of three new fertilizer production lines, optimized for DAP/MAP/NPK output. 

🌍 Strategic Significance :

• Supports Morocco’s national fertilizer sovereignty strategy and OCP’s $13B green investment roadmap 

• Strengthens Jorf Lasfar’s position as the largest integrated fertilizer hub in the world

• Demonstrates SGM’s ability to execute complex, multi-discipline packages in a high-stakes, safety-critical industrial environment

🏗️ SGM’s Role :

As a key subcontractor on the project, SGM was responsible for:

1. Design, prefabrication & installation of:

   • Structural steel (platforms, pipe racks, cable trays)

   • Industrial piping spools, including high-pressure and corrosive media handling lines

   • Mechanical assembly of critical equipment (pumps, conveyors, mixing reactors)

2. Support Services:

   • Laser alignment, on-site machining, and vibration analysis

   • Safety and quality supervision in coordination with JESA and OCP’s QA/QC teams.
